Joseph W. Irwin '46

Joseph Irwin, 82, of Valrico, Fla., entered the Chapter Eternal February 5, 2006.  A corporal in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII, he earned four Bronze Stars for service in Northern Europe, the Battle of the Bulge, Africa and the Middle East. 

After graduation from Denison, Joe represented American, European, and Asian houseware firms; during the 1970s he brought low-cost hurricane-proof housing to the island of St. Croix.  Since retiring in 1993, he worked as a real estate appraisal assistant in Bradon, Fla.  A talented pianist and gardener, he was an avid traveler and sports fan.
