Richard D. Reinbold, Gen. USAF '40

General Reinbold, 87, of Lake Wales, Fl., entered the Chapter Eternal January 20, 2006.  A 1942 graduate of the Military Academy at West Point, he chose a career in the Army Air Corps, receiving his wings in December 1942 and serving two tours in WWII in the Southwest Pacific Theater.  Cited by Gen. McArthur, he and his squadron received the Presidential Unit Citation.  After WWII, he served 30 years in the U.S. Air Force at stations across the country and overseas.  He was awarded the Legion of Merit with Oak Leaf Clusters, the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, and the Air Force Commendation medal among others.
