Dick Cash '60

Richard L. (“Dick”) Cash of Newark and formerly of Columbus, Ohio entered the Chapter Eternal Saturday, October 17, 2015. He was 77 years old.

As a graduate of the Newark High School Class of '56 he lettered in numerous varsity sports. At Denison University he was a member of the Class of ’60, and a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity, following his Mu-Sig brother, Bob '54.

Dick taught science at Reynoldsburg High School, Crestview Jr. High School and Whetstone High School in Columbus. He later joined the executive ranks of the Columbus Education Association. After leaving education in the early 1970s, he began a successful career in construction; namely, Columbus Blacktop. Upon retirement he moved to the Newark area and was active in community affairs.

He is survived by his son, Charles (Chip) Cash and daughter, Patricia (Patti) Cash; daughter-in-law, Amelia (Amy) Cash; two brothers, Tom Cash of Newark and Dr. Robert Cash ‘54 of California; ex-wife, Susie Grubaugh; five grandchildren and numerous friends.

Dick was preceded in death by his son, Richard (Rick) Cash and his parents, Robert and Ruth Cash.

The memorial service on October 23, 2015 noted that in lieu of flowers, contributions could be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Dick's memory.
