Richard E. Goss '49

Dick Goss '49Richard E. Goss entered the Chapter Eternal on December 14, 2013. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on May 13, 1926 to the late Norval and Virginia Caldwell Goss. He was 87.

Dick attended Bexley High School and earned a Bachelor's Degree from Denison University in Granville, Ohio. He was a member of The Sigma Chi Fraternity and served in the 3rd Armored Division of the U.S. Army.

Dick married Joanne M. Brown of Chillicothe, Ohio, on March 9, 1956. He worked for Borden Dairy for 30 years and was Plant Manager in Ft. Wayne, Dayton, Ohio, and Indianapolis. He retired from Borden, and opened his own manufacturing representative business serving the dairy industry for another ten years.

He was a past member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church and served his community through membership in Rotary Clubs in Ft. Wayne, Dayton and Indianapolis.

Dick is survived by his sons, David A. (Cindi), Richard E., Jr. (Kim) and Thomas J. (Ann) Goss; grandchildren, Meagan, Courtney, Andrew, Evan, Bridgit and Thomas; and brother, Norval (Sue). Dick's wife, Joanne, preceded him in death in 2007. Dick was a devoted husband and dedicated father and grandfather.

Memorial contributions may be made to Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis and/or the Alzheimer's Association.
