Samuel L. Schwarzkopf '52


Samuel L Schwarzkopf '52Samuel Loring Schwarzkopf entered the Chapter Eternal on September 25, 3013 at his home in Newark, Ohio. He was 83.

Brother Schwarzkopf was born July 18, 1930 in St. Louis, Missouri. He moved to the Newark-Granville area when he was five years old with his parents. He was a 1948 graduate of Granville High School and attended college at Denison University and was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity.

Sam began employment with B&L Motor Freight (Freight Services) retiring after 38 years of service. He worked part-time at Apple Tree Auction Center for a time. He will be remembered as a loving family man.

He was survived by his wife of 28 years, Olive (Loveridge) Schwarzkopf; three children, Lori Ann (Jim) Walcutt of Denver, Colorado, Susan (Dean) Wagner of Westerville, Jim (Jan) Schwarzkopf of Sylvania; two step-children, Chris Ann (Pete) Geiger of Marysville and Wes Berger of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; seven grandchildren, Bobby, Brian and Meredith Schwarzkopf, Sarah Walcutt, Emily Wagner, Courtney and Katie Berger.

In addition to his parents, Sam was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Lou (Cromer) Schwarzkopf in 1976.
