Jack N. Meeks, Jr.

Jack Meeks, Jr. entered the Chapter Eternal on October 19, 2011, of natural causes, at his home in Sarasota, Florida. Jack was 70.

Jack, first-born son of Jack Norwood Meeks and Virginia Harper Meeks of Columbus, Ohio, attended Upper Arlington schools, graduating from Upper Arlington High School in 1959. He graduated from Denison University, Class of 1963, where he was an active member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity, continuing the legacy established by his Order of Constantine father, Jack N. Meeks, Mu '27.

After graduation from college, Jack served as a commissioned officer in the United States Coast Guard for three years. Upon leaving the military, he joined J N Meeks & Co., an employment benefit consultancy firm, as a partner, where he served until the early 1980's. Upon his final retirement, Jack resided in Sarasota with his younger sister Virginia Page, who preceded him in death on October 24, 2010.

Jack sang in the church choir and The Sarasota Choral Society, he was an active bridge player, and a dear friend to many in the Sarasota area. Jack took great joy in the fact that he was able to attend his nephew Andrew Meeks' wedding to Erin Martin in Washington, DC, the previous weekend where he was with his entire family.

Jack is survived by his daughter, Kristine Langan, her husband, Jay and his grandsons, Oliver and Reed of Pacific Palisades, California.
