Frank Loehnert, Jr. '47

Frank Loehnert, Jr. entered the Chapter Eternal at age 84, on November 21, 2009. He had been a long time resident of Bexley, Ohio.

Frank was born in Columbus, attended Denison where he joined Sigma Chi, and graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in mechanical engineering. He served as an Engineering Officer in World War II. Frank spent over 50 years in the insurance business and was president of Atkinson-Dauksch Agencies and chief executive officer of Corroon & Black of Ohio. In later years he started CEI Consulting which offered required continuing education classes for insurance agents along with major property and liability insurance consulting and expert witness services. He was past President of the Ohio Association of Insurance Agents.

Although a Northwestern graduate, Frank maintained close ties to Mu Chapter through his brother, John Loehnert '44 and nephew, Todd Loehnert '84. Then, after John entered the Chapter Eternal in 2005, Frank stepped up his involvement with the Mu Chapter Alumni Association by providing invaluable counsel to the Mu Chapter of Sigma Chi Foundation in structuring a comprehensive insurance plan for the restored Sig House, along with other insurance coverages.

Frank is survived by daughters, Deborah (Dr. Rob) of Blacklick, Ohio and Dianne (Dr. David) of Lakewood, Ohio; grandchildren, David A. (Tiffany) Schworm, Philip D Schworm, Heather K. Schworm, Emily Vogt and Fritz (Shana) Vogt; great grandchildren, Reed and Regan Schworm. He is also survived by his sister, Ann Kitzmiller; and loving nieces and nephews.

All honor to his name.
