Schaumburg, Edwin W., MD

Ed Schaumburg, M.D., F.A.C.S., entered the Chapter Eternal February 7, 2005, in La Jolla, California. He was born September 23, 1941, in St. Louis, Missouri, son of Margaret and Russell Schaumburg.

Following graduation from Denison in 1964, Ed went on to medical school at the University of Missouri School of Medicine. He served in the Army at Fort Riley, Kansas from 1970-72. He founded Orthopaedic Associates of Knoxville (now known as University Orthopaedic Surgeons) and practiced medicine for twenty-seven years.

Ed will be forever missed by his wife of thirty-nine years, Joanne; his children, Devin Kerrigan, Russell, Zach, Edwin and Bennett; his grandchildren, Joe and Molly his mother and father-in-law, Mary and Bing Devine; his son-in-law, Mike; his daughter-in-law, Ashley; his brother, John and family; his sister, Ann Krueger and family; his sisters-in-law, Jane Pilkington and family, and Janice Devine and every friend, patient and stranger whose life he touched. A memorial service for Ed to celebrate his life was held at Sequoyah Hills Presbyterian Church on February 12, 2005. Donations in his name can be made to The Edwin W.
